Description:
A nice fine or better banknote issued by the Central Bank of China. This is the1942 Twenty Yuan banknote. The note which has Chinese characters on the front is brown in color and depicts the P'ia-lou Gate to the right. The back is red in color and is written in English showing the words "The Central Bank of China" and the denomination both in numbers and in writing as well as the date 1942. The back also has two signatures in red. The front has the serial number which is C395640 shown twice in red. The note does not have a watermark. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition:
I would grade the note as a good fine. The note shows considerable circulation with many folds, creases and wrinkling. Paper is soiled but has no major objectionable stains. There is one near the bottom of the right corner on the back. The paper shows general softness and has lost its sheen and stiffness. Edges show general roughness but has no tears. It does have some nicks especially at the ends of the folds. handling with minor tears in the border area. The colors of the note are clear but not bright. The corners are intact but show general rounding and creasing. The note's overall appearance is still on the desirable side. Please see photos for additional condition information.
