    Description

    HK-876,
Choice Uncirculated, certified NGC MS-62BN. Struck as a souvenir to mark the opening of the Denver Mint in 1905, and as a test of the large press intended to strike Double Eagles. On a similarly sized planchet to a , in Bronze rather than Gold naturally. Long popular as a Mint-struck medal and collected by fans of U. S. Gold as well as part of the SCD series. This increased demand means these tend to be relatively scarce on the market, sell relatively quickly if nice (as this example is) and also tend to perhaps a bit spendier than their survival would indicate.  An original piece, no hairlines, problems or distraction, just a scattering of light random marks typical of a souvenir lightly handled prior to be put away. The streak on the Reverse is likely from contact with something during storage (not a "gouge" or mark of any kind). Pricing is somewhat difficult, as few comparable pieces have sold at auction recently that I can find.
Priced based upon what most high end AU to low end Unc specimens have brought recently. I am happy to combine shipping for multiple items – please use the ebay Shopping Cart feature and ASK FOR AN INVOICE before payment. Please contact me for a quote.
