    Description

    HK-303, Official Souvenir Medal from the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in Saint Louis (aka the St. Louis World's Fair).  HK-303 listed as struck in Bronze, however the color of this piece certainly suggests that this is Brass (?). Choice Uncirculated certified NGC MS-64, an unusual lightly and attractively toned piece.  It has been my experience that those of these that toned due to storage were almost always cleaned, usually badly.  In this case, very attractive splashes of blue-green and red-orange toning present on both sides, suggesting many years spent in an old coin envelope.  Tough as usual to get an accurate image of toning like this; the extra images were the best I could do and should give you a decent idea.  As always, the proof is "in the hand".  Much more interesting that the usual HK-303, undoubtedly original and certainly worth a reasonable premium for the unusual nature of the surfaces.
