Description
This is a beautiful 1961 US Centennial .925 Sterling silver Pony Express Termination Medal. One side shows a rider with a saddle in hand leading a horse with the words below him saying, "An immortal service to the Union," with the replica of Abraham Lincolns signature. These were released in celebration of the 100th year since the termination of the Pony Express by the invention of the telegraph. The opposing side shows a horse and telegraph lines.
