1960 HK-583 SC Pony Express Centennial NGC MS66 RD Official Medal. Bronze. Commemorates the famed Pony Express operating between St. Joseph, MO., and Sacramento, CA., from April 3, 1860, to October 24, 1861, which played a vital role in holding California in the Union at the time of Civil War. Obverse depicts the three founders Russell, Majors and Waddell. The reverse is a large Pony Express rider on a galloping steed.This coin is one of 250 graded by NGC, with
only 18 graded higher
. Very rare in this high mint state.
