Description
The obverse text on this So-Called Dollar reads1903 Ford 1933
and the reverse text is
Thirty Years V8 of Progress.
The front side of the coin shows the Ford logo in the center with a car grille in the background and dates on either side of the logo. The backside of the coin depicts a large V8 in the center surrounded by a very simple wreath and text arching above and below.
1933 IL HK-465 SC Ford Dollar Almost UNC Century of Progress Exposition, the Chicago World's Fair. The medal, which seldom comes up for bid, celebrated thirty years of progress for Ford. The obverse features a radiator grille of the 1933 Ford car with the Ford logo in script. The reverse is a large V-8 superimposed on each other signifying the Ford flathead V-8s, the only production cars with eight cylinders.
