    Description

    A.B. Bumstead, Type One.  Zerbe-2.  Serial #578.  Grocer A.B. Bumstead was an early Lesher customer and ordered several hundred pieces, although survivors are scarce today.  Type One examples have scrollwork on each side of the fasces.  Type Two pieces omit that scrollwork.  This well struck example displays uniform steel gray toning with blue-green highlights.
    Less than 100 known. Pop in 63 = 3, only one finer (64).
