Description
1893 Columbian Exposition Treasury Dept. Mint exhibit medal/So-called dollar HK-155. The piece is made of brass and on the obverse shows The U.S. Gov't. Building that would have been at the exposition. Below the building is shown the specifics of length, width, and area of the building. The reverse shows the lettering in the middle "WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION CHICAGO 1893". Around the border is "TREASURY DEPARTMENT UNITED STATED MINT EXHIBIT". The obverse is a subdued color of old brass and the reverse has a slightly bluish overtone in the center area, with the overall a little darker than the obverse with an almost copper looking tone.
